The no look passes. The crowd goes wild every five seconds...

Streetball has been one of the nation's best sports. It's part of the urban culture. Maybe we should search into it a bit.

Streetball is (you probably knew this) an urban form of basketball. It's normally played at playgrounds and gymnasiums. Only one side of the court is normally used. The rules are very similar to pro basketball. Streetball is played around the world.

Some of the greatest and well known teams are And 1, Ball4Real, and Mixtape Tour. Some of the greatest streetball players are Hot Sauce (aka Phillip Champion), Skip to my Lou (aka Rafer Alston), The Professor (aka Grayson Boucher), Mr. 720 (aka Taurian Fontenette), and Hijak (aka Justin Hajek). These are the best of streetball.

The rules of streetball are pretty much like pro basketball, except they are changed around a bit depending on which rule set the association or the teams want to play it. A popular rule set is called 21. The rules of 21 are:

At the beginning of the game one single player shoots the basketball from 3 point range and the rest of the players try to rebound it. The player who rebounds it starts off with the ball.

If a player thinks he has been fouled he will shout "foul". If a player calls the foul while the shot is in the air or when it's over, the shot is counted as if it went in.

Shots are counted as 2 pointers and 3 pointers.

After a shot that goes in, the player can take 3 one point free throws. If he misses, anyone can rebound it. If he makes all three, he keeps it at the top of the three point arc.

If there is any change in possession, the ball must be taken to the three point arc.

To win, a player needs to have exactly 21 points. If he goes over, he will need to restart. He will restart at either 11 or 13 points.

The player that wins the game will start out with the ball in the next game.

unless an injury can be seen, a foul is not called.

A lot of other rules in pro basketball are usually ignored in this method of streetball. Pretty unusual.

Another notable feature about this method of playing streetball is that it is pretty much every man for himself.

I think I covered just about all the important details on the topic of streetball. You have hopefully learned something new.

Pro Basketball

Now you would probably know that James Naismith invented basketball in springfield, Massachusetts in 1891. But did YOU know that the three point arc was first used in the NBA (pro basketball) in 1979? Perhaps you DON'T know everything about pro basketball. Read on.

How about some basics. Pro basketball in the USA is called the National Basketball Association (A.K.A. the NBA). The NBA holds the very best teams, which hold the very best players, like Lebron James and Kevin Garnett. These teams are separated by either Eastern or Western. In the Eastern you have the Atlantic, Central, and Northeast divisions. The Western holds the Southwest, Northwest, and Pacific divisions. The greatest players play in the Olympics.

Some of the greatest teams are the Boston Celtics, the Chicago Bulls, the Detroit Pistons, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Feats accomplished by Los Angeles Lakers would include their record-holding .937 playoff winning rate in 2000-2001. You probably all know Kobe Bryant, who plays for them. Some of the best players are Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Rick Barry, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson, Lebron James, George Mikan, and Julius Erving. All of these players are truly amazing.

The NBA is also concerned with sicknesses, diseases, homeless, etc. Their foundation is called NBA Cares (you would have never guessed). They have donated 100 million dollars to charity. They've provided one million hours of service to the community. NBA Cares also has created 250 places for kids and families to play, learn, or live. This association has worked with many other large foundations such as UNICEF. If you would like to learn more go to www.NBA.com.

As you can see, pro basketball is not very complicated. Except when you learn the fact that there are many other pro basketball associations in other countries like EURO, or so I think it is called. Well, you get the point about many other associations being out there. Hopefully this article was a helpful resource to you.

My Favorite Player

76ers: the Important Details

Red, black, and white jerseys flying down the court. The "Ballin" soundtrack blasting through the Wachovia Center. Hip Hop the rabbit hyping up the fans.
You can only be in one place at this time. You are watching....

76er's basketball. This article will discuss the 76ers. The Sixers are in the NBA. They have been pretty successful in the NBA, and had many effective players play on their court. This article will aim to give you the knowledge to know the important facts about the 76ers.

The 76ers have made a variety of memorable titles. The 76ers (as of 2008) hold 3 championship wins. They also hold 5 conference titles. 11 division titles also go to the Sixers. But, now, the more important details like that it was founded in 1939 in the next paragraph.

What is/are the 76er's owner(s)? You don't know? Then let's get cooking. The Sixer's were founded in 1939 as said in paragraph 3 (They didn't join the NBA until 1949). Sixer's basketball is played in the Wachovia Center. The head coach is Maurice Cheeks. Although now they're called the 76ers, they were once (in the beginning of the beginning, also known as the beginning of the Sixer's careers, or 1949-1963) called the Syracuse Nationals. They are in the Eastern Conference, and they're in the Atlantic Division. Oh, and to answer the question asked earlier, this leader in the game's (the 76ers if you don't get my flow) owner is Comcast-Spectacor. That's about it for the very important details.

The 76ers as you might have noticed are an efficient team. They hold a variety of titles. They were founded in 1939.
I very well hope you learned a little about the 76ers. I tried my best to at least introduce many of the key points about Sixer's basketball.

UCLA Basketball: What YOU need to know about the Bruins

So you ask, "What do I need to know about UCLA Basketball?" The answer is right here
in front of you (yes it is). The largely known UCLA Bruins is a division-1 NCAA basketball team. This tried and true team has DOMINATED over the past 89 or something years. I mean, 11 NCAA tournament titles, that’s pretty amazing. Anyway, this article will discuss UCLA Basketball.

Note that this information was based on men's basketball as of 2008.

The Bruins, established in 1919, are holding many titles. UCLA basketball is proud of it's 11 NCAA tournament titles (as said in paragraph one), which is a record. They also hold in their possession 26 Final Four wins. The team's winning percentage is .709. Man, this team IS division-1. Next up I'll look at some general info.

The Bruin's stadium, court, whatever you feel like calling it is the Pauley Pavilion. Although it (the basketball court), in my opinion, sounds wimpy, this team truly dominates. The UCLA Bruins are in the Pacific-10 conference. The team's colors are true blue and gold. The coach, as of 2008, is/was Ben Howland. UCLA basketball has produced many NBA pro athletes including Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Oh, and also UCLA basketball is played in Los Angeles, California, unless it's an away game.
So, to sum it all up, the UCLA Bruins simply dominate the NCAA. They, as of 2008, hold/held many titles such as 11 NCAA tournament titles and 26 Final Four wins to just name a few. I can't really sum up the general information, so you'll have to review that paragraph.
